Bloody Sunday Obelisk Memorial | Limited Edition of 10

In the heart of Derry, Northern Ireland, stands the poignant Bloody Sunday Obelisk Memorial, a testament to the tragic events that unfolded on January 30, 1972. As I captured the fine art photograph, the somber monument invoked a deep sense of reflection and reverence for those who lost their lives on that fateful day.

An urban-themed fine art photograph capturing a black and white cloudy day at the Bloody Sunday Obelisk Memorial in Derry, Northern Ireland, pays tribute to the lives of those lost during the fateful event of Sunday Bloody Sunday in Derry (Londonderry).

The stark, black obelisk, etched with the names of the victims, stands as a powerful symbol of remembrance and a call for justice. The surrounding environment, with its overcast sky and muted colors, underscores the solemnity of the memorial and the profound emotions it evokes.

In this photojournalism photograph, I sought to capture the essence of the Bloody Sunday Obelisk Memorial and its significance to the people of Derry and beyond. The image serves as a visual reminder of the importance of acknowledging the past and striving for a brighter, more inclusive future.

The memorial's solid lines and minimalist black-and-white design draw the viewer's attention to the names of those who perished, fostering a connection between the observer and the victims. This powerful black-and-white image encourages contemplation and empathy, urging us to remember and honor the sacrifices made to pursue peace and justice.
