Calm water and grass | Limited Edition of 10

A Quiet Morning Captured in a Minimalist Natural Scene

Stillness has a sound if you listen closely enough. That’s the quiet I remember when I took this image—early morning, somewhere north of ordinary, where the water doesn’t ripple unless the wind asks permission.

This print, Calm Water and Grass is as much about absence as it is about presence. No distractions. No noise. Just the soft brush of shoreline grasses reaching out toward a mirror-smooth lake that doesn’t seem to end. That moment stood still long enough for me to press the shutter and walk away, knowing I had what I needed.

I’ve always found that nature when stripped down to its essentials—just water, grass, and light—speaks the loudest. This isn’t a dramatic mountain vista or a tropical seascape screaming for attention. It’s the in-between. The place where nothing happens, but everything settles. And that’s exactly what makes it as powerful as wall art. It creates space. Space to breathe, to focus, to come back to yourself.

Perfect for rooms that need grounding—offices, bedrooms, reading corners—this piece has a natural neutrality that blends well with minimalist decor, rustic textures, or modern clean lines. I hand-sign every print, and each order is carefully made to order in my studio. It’s not just a scene—it’s a mood captured and printed with purpose.

If you’re drawn to the quieter side of nature, or you want your space to carry that sense of peaceful presence, Calm Water and Grass is exactly the kind of wall art that belongs in your collection.

If you’re the kind of person who notices the soft light falling on lake grasses or the way wildflowers lean into the wind, you’ll find that same quiet wonder in my Haliburton Photography Collection and the still serenity of the Lakes Photography Collection.
