Rising Bubbles Animate A Minimal Sparkling Wine Composition

This is one of the few photographs in my collection made entirely as a controlled studio still life. Most of my work is created while traveling and exploring, where light and subject are constantly changing. Here I could slow everything down and concentrate on a different kind of moment: tiny bubbles rising through sparkling wine while glass and bottle were reduced to a handful of illuminated lines.

The flute occupies the right side of the frame, filled with pale golden sparkling wine. Fine bubbles rise through the liquid and collect more densely near the bottom of the glass. Behind it, the sweeping edge of a dark bottle curves down from the upper left and nearly disappears into the black background. The large shapes are simple, but the small detail inside the flute gives the photograph a second level of visual interest. That combination makes it a natural part of my still life wall art.

From across a room, I see geometry first: a luminous vertical glass, a broad bottle curve, and the negative space between them. Closer inspection changes the photograph. Individual bubbles appear, along with tiny reflections and subtle variations in the transparent glass. I like images that reveal more as the viewing distance changes, and this one does exactly that.

The palette is intentionally restrained. Black dominates the frame, thin white reflections trace the glass, and warm golden wine provides the only substantial color. There are no labels or brand references and nothing that ties the scene to a specific bottle, vintage, or occasion. I wanted the photograph to remain timeless and visual rather than descriptive.

Because these studio images are rare within my body of work, I see them almost as photographic studies in light. I controlled the arrangement, but the bubbles introduced a small unpredictable element. They prevent the composition from becoming completely static and give the dark, formal structure a subtle sense of movement.

I release this photograph as a limited edition of only 10 prints across all sizes. Each print is personally signed by me, accompanied by a certificate of authenticity, and produced with archival pigment inks on premium archival paper. The fine bubble detail and narrow highlight lines are particularly important in the finished print.

Its vertical format and dark palette make it well suited to contemporary dining spaces, wine rooms, restaurants, bars, and minimalist interiors. It is clearly about sparkling wine, but the photograph avoids the usual decorative clichés and instead depends on line, scale, transparency, and repetition.

The rising bubbles are the detail that gives this photograph its own identity within my wine wall art.

Isabella ★★★★★

The way the bubbles actually rise and shift across the print is mesmerizing—I find myself just watching it for a few minutes every evening. It's such a clever use of animation in a still photograph, and the minimalist composition keeps it classy.

Harper K. ★★★★★

I hung this in my dining room and guests can't stop staring at the way the bubbles seem to float upward. The minimalist composition feels both elegant and playful, exactly what I wanted for my small gallery wall.

Riley P. ★★★★★

The way the rising bubbles actually look like they're moving on the print is such a clever touch — really makes the whole piece feel alive. It's a perfect fit for my home bar area.
