Colorful Maple Leaf on Pond Surface | Limited Edition of 10

Autumn Leaves on Algonquin Park Pond - Fall Wall Art

This close-up photograph captures the vibrant fall colors of Algonquin Park in Northern Ontario, Canada. A red maple leaf rests on the surface of a quiet pond, surrounded by yellows, browns, and earthy tones from other fallen leaves. What I love about this shot is how the water creates subtle ripples, blending and distorting the reflections of the leaves, almost as if the colors are in motion. The swirling patterns of light and shadow give the scene a dreamlike quality, making the natural beauty of autumn feel like a living painting.

The vibrant red of the maple leaf stands out, dominating the scene while still harmonizing with the warm tones around it. There’s something magical about how the water reflects and refracts the colors, giving a sense of depth and movement to a still moment. This shot speaks to the fleeting beauty of fall, where even the most minor details—the way a leaf floats on water—can captivate the senses.

Personal note: As I stood by this small pond in Algonquin Park, I was mesmerized by how the colors of fall seemed to merge with the water, creating a vibrant, living palette. The quiet of the park, combined with the beauty of nature, made this a moment worth capturing.
