Dreary, dark, and cold old maximum security prison corridor to the jail cells that held famous Irish prisoners

The Kilmainham Gaol Prison is a fascinating piece of Irish History. The jail is over 220 years old and located outside Dublin, Ireland. It has incarcerated some of the most famous people in Ireland, criminals and revolutionaries.

In the urban photograph from Ireland, this part of the abandoned prison features an old dark section where they locked up the most notorious prisoners. The hallway contains numerous small, confined cells. Deep walled windows provide fresh air on one side. Unfortunately, the smell is musty, and the walls are damp. Only a couple of lightbulbs illuminate the dreary cell block. It could be something from a horror movie.

Alexander ★★★★★

The cold, heavy atmosphere of that corridor really comes through—you can almost feel the damp stone and hear the echoes. That limited-edition number adds a nice collector’s touch to an already striking piece of Irish history.

Joseph C. ★★★★★

The light hitting the brickwork in this print makes the whole corridor feel colder and more oppressive than any photo I've seen of the actual jail. It's framed perfectly for a dark hallway, and the limited edition number adds a nice touch to the history of the place.

Hazel W. ★★★★★

The eerie perspective down that corridor really captures the oppressive atmosphere of the place. I can almost feel the damp cold just looking at the print on my wall.
